Dr. Stewart Chen has always been an active member of the community - generously donating his time and effort to community service. Dr. Chen's achievements and accomplishments include:

  • 2010, elected to the City of Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors
  • 2009, elected as the Second Vice-Chair of the Alameda County Human Relations Commission (HRC) by his colleagues in the Commission
  • 2008, appointed to HRC by then Alameda County Supervisor, Alice Lai-Bitker
  • 2005, re-appointed to the Social Service Human Relations Board (SSHRB) by then Alameda Mayor, Beverly Johnson
  • 2001, appointed to SSHRB by then Alameda Mayor, Ralph Apezzato
  • Co-chaired the Alamedans Together Against Hate (ATAH) Committee for SSHRB
  • Chaired the Alameda Friendship City Committee for SSHRB
  • Co-founded the Alameda Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival Committee
  • Co-founded The Philippine Independence Day Organizing Committee
  • Chaired the Sight Saver Program sponsored by the Lions Clubs International
  • Chaired the Human Exploitation And Trafficking (HEAT) Awareness Committee for Alameda County HRC
  • Chaired the Alameda Hospital Community Relations Committee for the Healthcare District
  • Participated in the Alameda City-wide Needs Assessment Survey for SSHRB
  • Served as a mentor for the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) Internship Program
